I used to be a devoted customer of George's Automeister in Glendale, however, George has closed shop. He recommended Fred to service my 1988 Volvo 740. Fred was honest and friendly. He finished the work faster than I expected and charged me less than I had expected. In fact, he gave me a discount because I had come all the way from Santa Clarita to his shop!! It's worth a 30 mile trip or tow to know that your car is being repaired by a competent, honest mechanic. I'm not sure what cars he specializes in, but he did a GREAT job on my Volvo. He understands his customers' budgets and was honest about small repairs to my car that would be unnecissary or too expensive (being a poor graduate student, I appreciate this). Since Automeister did only european cars, and sends people to Fred's, I imagine he does good work on other european cars. I also saw some non-european cars in the lot, though. Fred seems like a great mechanic and I won't be taking my car anywhere else in the near future.
