They are kind/thoughtful/friendly people. They often take care of "small," additional things on the car that come to their attention just because they care. As a female, I often feel leered at while in other auto shops. These guys are cool and don't do that! They also don't try to make an extra buck(s) just because I don't know much about cars! Whew! What a relief!

I have been using these mechanics for many years. They are very honest. They are continually taking classes to be as good as they possibly can. They are pleasant to deal with. They not only keep my old truck with 189,000 miles on it running, but it runs great! They really do a great job of diagnosing things. They have state-of-the-art computers and equipment. While no car repairs are cheap, I think they are really a good deal because they find out what your problem is correctly, and then they just fix that problem. I have seen how they deal with other customers too, and they are fabulous. They have many customers who come from long distances to have them work on their cars. If you can not tell, I think they're really great. I classify myself as a "biased customer" because when they started out on their own several years ago, I wanted them to stay in business as my mechanic, and so took them on as their outside accountant. But I think my opinion of them would be the same if I did not do work for them.

I agree with most of what the first survey has said--I beleive that they are honest and very knowledgable mechanics. They have opened up another location in LaVern. For someone who commutes---Their hours of operation do not provide the same flexability as you would find with a dealer--but then you are paying for that with the difference in what a dealer charges. I have found that if possible they will work out the drop off and pickup.

I had BIG O tires change my oil and rotate my tires. But they refused to do the second because I needed to repack the bearings. Their estimate 153.00. I went to THE ENGINE ROOM and they rediagnosed the problem and said that a nut needed tightening and fixed the problem. The also recommended I repack the bearings while the wheel assemblies were taken apart and for 75.00 I did so. They are honest, diagnose accurately, and are affordable.

Very nice people to deal with, competent, thorough and seem well provided with the equipment (such as computer diagnostic items) to do the job. I'm retired, so it's easy to accommodate my time to their schedule. I can often simply wait, usually under an hour, while the work is done. If the car must be left with them they have someone drive me home (my wife can drive me back to pick up the car undergoing repair). I have an old car (1980, Japanese)the is something of a problem getting its smog certificate every two years. These people get it done with dispatch and for a reasonable price. I feel pretty fortunate to have the Engine Room nearby.

I have been coming to the Engine Room for a few years and have become very close with the people that work there. Their service is top notch and have great mechanics that work there. They have gone through a change of ownership and have also changed the name to Prevent Car Care, and Ryan is now the owner. I must say I am happy for Ryan and what he and his crew are doing there. I will continue to take all of my vehicles as well as recommend everyone I know to Prevent Car Care.

I took my truck in to Prevent Car Care after reading positive reviews here on Car Talk's website. I found Ryan to be extremely clear in relaying what the issues were. The labor costs seem fair and the truck is running smoothly. I had to have some new parts replaced that Mac's Radiator royally screwed up installing, so I feel hesitant to get too excited because now that I am jaded and skeptical, I am waiting for something to go wrong. But, so far so good! And when I go through the process of buying a more sensible vehicle to commute with, I will most certainly bring it to Prevent to have Ryan look at it. I felt that establishing an ongoing customer relationship is important to the company and that makes me feel better. I definitely recommend.
