Walt's been working on our famiy's cars for years. I second what the other reviewers wrote: he's always honest, will involve you in the decision making process by explaining the ins & outs (to the extent that you're interested), and overall it's a good experience dealing with him & his crew. Not rock-bottom prices, but absolutely excellent work - you get what you pay for.

Walt and his crew care about your car, care about the quality of the work they do and care that the customer is happy! I can echo everything the first reviewer said: Walt explains everything thoroughly and is scrupulously honest. Walt's Automotive is not cheap, nor do they do those quickie superficial repairs that might you out the door quickly but with an unrepaired car. They take the time to diagnose the problem and get to the cause. All of my family's cars have been old, high-mileage cars. (We've been a customer for years, so Walt's has seen several cars of ours!) The reason they GOT to be old, high mileage cars is because they have been lovingly cared for by Walt and crew. Need a smart mechanic you can trust who won't cheat you? Go to Walt's.

Walt is a kick. He is personable, polite, and humorous. He explains things that might be wrong, could be wrong, and probably aren't wrong and then he give an accurate estimate. He understands the problem before he tires to fix it. Doesn't just shot gun it. He goes out of his way to make you happy… even pets your pooch. He makes you feel like he cares for your car and about the work that he has done. When an unrelated leak appeared a few days after a service call, he fixed it for free. Walt is a great guy – I have recommended him to co-workers and friends. I only wish he were a little closer to where I live … but he is worth the drive.

"Walt's is great. We've been going there for years, and our cars (Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans) seem to last forever (despite the fact that we're cheap-skates and only to the 'required' repairs). Walt & his mechanics are friendly, they know what they're doing, and although they're not the cheapest in town (they're not the pricey-est either), they're HONEST for pete's sake! When you go for a tuneup or repair, they'll usually tell you what's absolutely necessary to keep the car running safely, and also what they'd recommend for peak performance & longevity - you choose based on their recommendations & they always honor what you want. Also, although this is obviously no reason to choose a mechanic, you get a glow-in-the-dark key chain when you get back your key. Cool!

Very friendly, offered candid advice for a pre-purchase inspection on a used car I was thinking about buying.
