I didn't believe that there really were shops like Bud's. I had always heard of the mechanics that tried to steal from you, but I had never encountered any. They charged me 7 hours of labor for a 30 minute job. My car died on the side of the road a couple of blocks from my house. I couldn't start it again and I heard the fuel pump prime when I tried to start it, so I knew it was either the starter or the distributor. I had the car towed to Bud's because they were local and AAA wouldn't tow it to my normal shop for free, and I didn't have any tools at home to test the starter. I told them it that they just needed to test the starter to see if it was the distributor that needed to be changed. The starter worked, so I had the new part shipped to them. 3 bolts and a plug were all that needed to be put in and out. I can change a distributor 5 minutes with a socket wrench. They however charged me for 7 hours!!!! As if that wasn't enough, it took them almost an hour to have someone get up to take my money for the bill! Do not trust these guys with anything!
