Jeff (owner) sealed the deal with me as a customer the day I decided to try my hand at my first solo tune up. The whole shebang - plugs, wires, etc. Anyway, by the time I was done, I was pretty happy that I had saved a buck or two, had a nice day outside and learned a thing or two aboubt my pick-up. That all changed when I started it up and it made the most remarkably horrible noises I had ever heard a vehicle make (later srupassed by the ungodly sound of my friend's VW siezing). Naturally, I panicked, checked everything I could and gave up. I remembered that Jeff's shop was a block or two away, so i puttered over and sheepishly asked him to help me out, explaining what I had done (or hadn't done). He agreed that I had done something wrong, siad he had a couple of ideas and to call back in an hour or so. When I did, he said to drop by and pick it up, he had figured it out and corrected it. He showed me where I had confused some sort of hoses and gave me "what for" for not labeling things as I went. Anyway, in the end, he fixed my mistake, refused payment and made me promise not to do stupid things anymore - saying that would be enough for him! He's been my mechanic since (8 years now) and done everything from suspension work, clutch work and routine maintenance for me when time was tight.
