John Armstrong is the owner of this small shop. We first went there on the recommendation of a friend - over 20 years ago. We have been going there ever since. Now that our kids are grown with their own cars, we send them to John. The only cars we haven't taken there are brand new ones under warranty, which we have taken to the dealer. John is always honest and trustworthy and does excellent work for a fair price. This is the kind of general shop that you can't find anymore. It's old and small, definitely not fancy, but it is the best.

Tucson Auto Center was recommended to me and my wife by the receptionist at her office, Rebecca. Rebecca has been taking her cars to John for over 20 years! He has been the best mechanic that I have had since moving to Tucson, by far. The only mechanics that I have used that were even in the same realm as T.A.C. were, believe it or not, a Hyundai dealership in Jersey City, NJ. John and Glen have always been able to take care of me same day and they have a fenced/locked lot for overnight stays, plus the garage. Always courteous and happy to explain the issues, I have learned a lot from talking to them.

(I don't know the hourly labor cost) John Armstrong, who owns this shop, is absolutely the best. We have been going to him on and off for over 20 years. He is honest, knowledgeable, personable - all you could want in a mechanic. I always trust his opinion. The work they do is always first rate. You can trust him - we value his opinion. Really - you couldn't do any better in Tucson. Most recently, we took our old (1997) Geo Metro there for a check up. I asked him for an honest opinion - was it worth fixing up, or should I just let it go. He fixed everything wrong with it, and I gave the car to my son for driving around town. At many other shops, you always wonder if you are being ripped off - never the case here. It's a small shop, and not at all fancy. But it is a great place. No loaner cars, no perks, just great service.
