I want to recommend a highly skilled, honest mechanic who tries to keep costs down for his customers. This salty old Frenchman is John Blot, preprieter. If you didn't know better, you'd think John was a prospector in to get his donkey. Fixed. John IS a prospector, but uses a pickup truck to get to gold country on weekends. He'll fix anything, but if he thinks it's a pile of juk, he'll tell you so and fix it anyway.

I agree with everything the first reviewer said about John, who kept my 3 Renaults running (even bought one of them from him and when I didn't need it anymore, he bought it back at a very fair price). I haven't needed a mechanic since I bought a 93 Lexus 2 years ago, but would actually welcome the opportunity to be a customer again. John also shared some expertise when my son was having trouble learning to operate a standard transmission: "Is he wearing those thick-soled clod-hopper athletic shoes?" "yeah" "Tell him to try it barefoot." Worked like a charm.
