Tucson is spread out so it's difficult to find anything with good public transportation access, however, this shop has always provided me with peekup and dr-r-ropov to my home or bus stop. Plus, they're all nice people and very customer service oriented.

After taking my Grand Am to two other shops and to the dealer and having each of them do something completely different to solve my problem, I discovered Bob through a friend. He nailed it as a faulty sensor in the transmission and had the car fixed the same day. Every time I use his garage I feel confident that only the work I need to have done is going to get done and it will be done correctly. One disclaimer: Never, ever, under any circumstances tell Bob to "take your time"! Bob's busy and you may not get your car for weeks! Make sure you tell him when you need your car back!

The car was taken in to fix an oil leak and have the timing belt changed. Not all was properly put back together and the timing belt cover was destroyed. The problem was taken care of by Douglas very professionally. I do Recommend.

I have used Bob Douglas for the past six years after a neighbor recommended him. He has saved me all kinds of money and often will fix a simple problem with no charge!! Can't find many good mechanics that will do that!! Shuttle service is a real advantage!!

I have been coming here since 1994. They are honest and reasonable. I came to them after going to a garage chain (starts with a B and rhymes with Rake Masters). The chain garage quoted me 2 thousand dollars and claimed I needed a ton of work. I then took it over to Bob at Douglas Auto and he went over the ACTUAL work that needed to be done and come to find out, I SAVED myself 1600 dollars! I did'nt need as much work as the other place had claimed. They are a GREAT shop and I will continue to highly recommend them. ~A LOYAL AND HAPPY CUSTOMER FOR LIFE

After seeing this recommendation here I took an RV I was considering buying here. (I live in Denver) Finding the place was a GPS challenge, close to a major intersection, but on dirt roads surrounded by scrub brush. They had a big operation running on referrals (you'd never find it accidentally). Nice guys, gave good recommendations, and were friendly and trustworthy. The kind of place and people I'd go to if I lived there. They charged $70 and took 1 1/2 hours (on schedule) to check out the RV. You won't regret it. He did tell me that I couldn't buy truck tires at "discount tire", but that was incorrect.

Douglas Auto Repair is hard to find, difficult to get to, and a veritable gem of an auto repair shop. The staff is friendly, capable, talented in some respects and goes out of its way to be a real help to those of us who drive older cars. They actually try to find the best, least expensive way to fix whatever is wrong, giving the owner options. They explain the options and give their recommendations; then they let the owner make the decision. One of the nicest services is the wonderful little man who will drive the car owner home and pick him up when the work is completed. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough! It is truly a gem in an industry not particularly known for them.

I found this shop through the Car Talk website. I had the 90,000 mile maintenace work done on my '98 GMC van, as well as the repair of rear door that wasn't opening. They were pleasant, reasonably priced, and appear to have done a fine job. I will definitely return.
