I have used this shop for almost 15 years and am surprised that they are not already in this database. While there are other good Porsche shops, Jack Doverspike runs the most honest operation, keeps costs down and competent shop I have ever dealt with. About 8 years ago, while I was living in Tucson, my car broke a belt while in Phoenix in the evening on my way back to Tucson. I reached Jack by phone and he told me to come to his house, put me up for the night and fixed my car at 7am and got me back on the road. While I wouldn't expect him to do this for just anyone, this is the kind of guy he is. Ok I guess I am really a friend so I fibbed a bit when I said I was completely unbiased. But he has always treated me fairly and all of the people who I have sent to him.

These guys only work on Porsches and they are terrific. I've had three different used Porsches (2 944's and a 1990 911 C2) and have never had a complaint. On the contrary, they are highly competent and a pleasure to do business with. When I bought my C2 it leaked oil like a sieve. They rebuilt the engine. In all of these repairs that have been quite reasonable. On one particularly difficult problem they refused to charge me anything--despite spending lots of time--until they found the problem. I've even thought on occasion(and said to them) that they did not charge me enough. Jack Doverspike who owns the business is a mechanic's mechanic. He's there every day with his hands dirty, but always willing to talk to you about the car.
