I don't own a Volvo anymore, but it's not because of Dave's shop. It's because Volvos have a tendancy to gravitate toward mechanics way too often. I would highly recommend Dave for anyone in Phoenix that needs a Volvo mechanic. Dave and his crew understand Volvos as well as any mechanic that I've ever dealt with, and Dave treats his customers fairly. In fact, I had another shop replace brake rotors on my 84 Volvo, and when Dave found out about it, not only did he say that it was done needlessly, but he also volunteered to buy the old rotors.

Dave is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. He goes beyond the call of duty. I have had lots of "free" repairs, little things that he noticed (some exposed wires) and took the time to fix. He has never charged me to have the engie compartment washed. He always calls to tell me what the repair will cost before he begins the work. He takes care to make the work affordable, and will use a used or rebuilt part if he can find it. When I pick up the car, he shows me exactly what work he performed and why, as well as pointing out areas that might need attention at a later date. He will not return the car to the owner unless he is comfortable with the work performed.

Dave is the most honest, hard working, knowledgable, and just plain nice mechanic you will every find. He has been servicing my 1992 volvo for the last 10 years and he always works to find the most cost effective solution to problems and the work is always first rate.

Dave and all of his employees at the Vo-Vo Shop are among the most competent and honest mechanics I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I recently purchased a used 2002 Volvo S40 that needed some work; Dave took the time to provide me with thorough diagnoses, and the work they performed upon the vehicle was truly superior. He took the time to evaluate and show me the condition of the vehicle, and he also pointed out things that might need future attention, without trying to sell me on unnecessary repairs. Dave personally gave me rides to/from his shop whenever transportation was inconvenient, and he thoroughly tests all of the vehicles he repairs. I've been to the Vo-Vo Shop for a number of repairs recently; while Volvos are inherently not the cheapest vehicles to maintain, you'll never find a more qualified and honest mechanic.
