My first experience with the shop many years ago was when I had them come check the tires on my car before my wife and I made a long road trip. I know a bit about cars because I went thru an Automotive School and even worked as a mechanic for a bit until I decided my future was actually in Computer Technology, but I didn't know much about tires because I just didn't pay much attention to that portion of my schooling. The person checking my tires over could have told me anything and I would have believed him and probably wound up buying a set of tires. Instead he told me that the only thing wrong with my tires was the air bubble in my left/rear that I was already aware of and that it was all I needed to replace. My second visit to them was to have the A/C on my Suzuki Sidekick fixed. It wound up needing some Freon (older car) added after fixing the main problem which was a broken Fan Speed Switch. The total bill was around $400 and my wife was supposed to meet me there on the way home from her job. When it was late enough that she should have been there, I started calling the home phone, her work phone and her cell phone (in those days when cell phones were still a small brick she only turned it on to make a call) and didn't get an answer at any of them. I had no way home because I got a ride to this location from someone at work and my now working car was waiting for my wife to pay the repair bill (the credit card being used for the repair was in her name only) and the shop was preparing to close for the day. The owner of the shop, Ron Knudsen, remembered my wife and I from our previous visit when they replaced a tire on our Expedition and he offered to let me take home my Sidekick after taking down my Driver's License Number and agreeing to come back in the next day with the credit card. That was about ten years ago and the shop is now owned by Lyle Knudsen, the brother of the original owner, but they still perform the same top-notch work and provide the same excellent customer service (a rare thing in today's world) that I have come to love and expect over the many years I have been taking my vehicles to them. I will continue to take my business to them as long as I live in Phoenix and there is a Knudsen running the shop (Lyle Knudsen Jr works at the shop and will most likely take over whenever his dad retires).

If I lived in Phoenix, I would certainly make this my regular service and repair shop. Unfortunately I am moving east and will have to start the search for a great, honest mechanic all over again in my new location. The Knudsens and their technicians came to my rescue when my radiator exploded on my way through Phoenix, where I didn't have anyone other than this web site to recommend a good shop that wouldn't rip me off of what very little cash I had on hand. They were reassuring to start out with, which was really appreciated in my desperate situation. They got my car in and repaired (above and beyond what was expected) the same day I called, despite being extremely busy. I spent the day in their customer lounge, having nowhere else to go until my car was ready, so I got to witness the way they treated every customer who came in or phoned like they are important, and they accomodated each one in what seemed to me like a super-humanly timely manner. I think these guys are really dedicated to their work and their customers, and I'm sorry I can't take them with me!

The Toyota Sienna minivan we drove from Louisiana was shaking at high speeds. This shop got good reviews from this site. They were courteous and seemed concerned that the problem was fixed correctly. They test drove the car with both before and after the repair. Repair costs were reasonable. If I lived in the Phoenix area, I this would be my mechanic shop.

I had a leaky tire and gave them a call because of the good review comments on this site. They said it would be approx. $10 to repair and there might be a 5-10 minute wait. I put air in the tire and headed over. They took me right away and found the nail, fixed the leak, rebalanced, and remounted the tire in about 15 min. When I went to the office to pay them, he shook my hand and said that there was no charge, have a nice day!! This is a shop that is going to get my business from now on. I highly recommend them.
