Tim Scardino and his son Chill make and drive dragsters, so they know how a car works from the ground up and to the smallest detail. They have absolutely no fear of saying, "We blew it, probably on us." I have never once in the 17 years they have been working on my cars had the feeling they were doing anything other than leveling with me. My wife likes the guys because they aren't patronizing to her and never hint that "Well, you wouldn't understand." If I were on assignment in the Antarctic for six months and something needed attention (my car, not my wife), neither of us would have any reservations about how well a problem would be taken care of. If something will take 5 or 10 minutes to check out to see if I should bring it in, it's no charge. There are places that want to charge you $35 to drive onto the property.

When I met Tim in 1980, I was working for an auto parts store that sold him parts. I was in the parts business for 7 years and got to see the dark side of the repair business. In that time I met a total of 2 honest mechanics and Tim is one of them (His son, Chill was too young then, but is just as honest as Tim). I have referred many people to him (including my Mother-in Law!) with 100% satisfaction.

They are very honest technicians. Frankly I don't even bother asking them to explain to me what is wrong with the car. You can trust them so much that you can leave them your car, a blank check, and a note saying "fix it". Timeliness is hit or miss. They have fixed the car before my butt warmed up the driver's seat of my rental car, but also they have had my car for the better part of a week (how hard is it to find a radiator for a Camry?). Still, never a problem with the price they charge or the quality of work they do, and I'll take a wait once in a while for that kind of service. They are on the west side of Cave Creek, and you have to really keep an eye out if you are heading south to see the shop.
