I live 3 hours away from this guy (James Rooster Bryant, Rooster's Auto Repair)! ...Found him while visiting my mother-in-law and developed car problems. Being out-of-town, I knew that many machanics would take serious advantage of my vulnerability and I was very hesitant about trying anyone. To show just how hesitant I was, I had stopped at the local "Auto Zone" to check on parts and the feasibility of doing the repairs myself! With the insuperable task that I was considering sinking in by the moment, I suddenly pulled an Auto Zone employee aside and pleaded with him to "unofficially" recommend someone. After some soul bearing, I finally got him to whisper that, "if it was me, I would visit Rooster at "Rooster's Auto Repair." The name caused me even more anxiety about becoming a victim of the "good-old-boy" syndrome, but it was my only option. I leveled with Rooster about being an out-of-towner and in a bind. He could have taken me for thousands $! However, before the end of the day (Friday!) he drove my car to the address of my mother-in-law's and picked me up. He had repaired a previously intermittent servere engine miss that became constant on my trip, which I had taken to my local dealer in the city no less than 5 times before! After lightening my wallet $1,700 worth, my dealer finally admitted that he didn't know what was wrong with the car and that he had replaced and done everything he knew to do. Rooster asked me to reimburse him for the cost of a used part ($30) and since I was was an out-of-town guest, the labor would be $25! After several moments of speechlessness I drove him back to his shop. And with my car finally running better than it ever had, I paid him the $55 he asked for, and gladdly gave him the $45 cash I had in my pocket as a tip! That was 3 years ago. And since then I visit my mother-in-law far more frequently since I use Rooster EXCLUSIVELY as my regular mechanic. I am happy to drive the 3 hours since it saves me much more in hardship time from mechanics in the city! ...Wouldn't trust my cars to ANYONE else but Rooster's Auto Repair!" !!!
