If you come in with a problem they evaluate and report back immediately - always with 15 minutes. Quite a difference from the dealer.

Wonderful shop, wonderful staff, pricey at times but absolutely worth it. Good-spirited about phone consultations. Lousy parking situation outside the shop, but they're so good, who cares? If you have an Audi in Anchorage, Bruce is by far the best bet in town.

My mom started taking her Saab to Bruce more than 10 years ago-Bruce was always fair, did good work and was completely honest in needed repairs. When I came home one day with a domestic car, he even let me into the family. Perfect story-I needed two things done to my car, one was needed sooner than the other, but Bruce said "I'd love for you to have me do them seperately because it would cost more (making a joke of course), but you should do them together because it will save you a couple of hundred dollars". He was like family and wish I had a mechanic like him in Oregon.

They tried unsuccessfully several times to find the source of a rattle in my 1991 S-10 pickup (with 26,420 actual miles on it!) before giving up & not charging me anything. They surmised it may have been within the two-part muffler/tail pipe assembly. The rattle eventually stopped. Go figure!

Bruce is great! He is always interested in not only the makes, models and years of our current cars, but also the stats on our family and hobbies. He has helped us sell cars and buy cars, and keeps all of them running well. Honesty, humor, and fair prices are a must!

Bruce at Arctic Import is what we all want to find in a service provider, honest, direct, frugal, empathetic, with a sense of humor. I had an engine problem with my BMW 328i that the dealer, (the only one within 3000 miles I might add) could not find and correct. In fact, the dealer insisted that I had a serious front suspension problem. I wanted a second opinion and sought out Bruce. After a no cost inspection on the rack where he showed me that there was no front suspension problem, he did find the engine problem and has fixed it. I recommend Arctic Import for BMW, Audi, VW, and any other import; at various times I have seen an AH3000, an MGB, Volvos of all persuasions, VWs, etc. GOOD, Honest, and Frugal.

Bruce and the gang at Arctic Import are an honest bunch who will do right by you. They might not have the lowest prices, and geographically their location is pretty inconvenient for me, but it's worth the time and expense to have a mechanic you know you can trust. These are the guys that will give you a $50 repair when you thought you needed a $500 one. Also, they have nice touches like using oil filters that are the same brand as your vehicle to insure a good fit.

I agree with the other review. Not always the cheapest, but definitely reliable, honest and knowledgeable. Bruce has done free test rides for me when buying a used car, always calls if the work is different than the plan, and has never done unnecessary work on any of my cars (subarus, chevy's, ford).

I took my 2004 Volvo V70 for brake problems after being frustrated with Continental. I didn't like what it cost me, but I feel Bruce was honest and competent, which I guess is all a person can ask for. This was my first trip, but I'll use him again.
